Requirements

What your site needs before you install Logo Carousel. Most modern WordPress hosts already have it.

You don't need a special server. If your WordPress admin runs smoothly and you can install normal plugins, you're almost certainly fine. This page lists the minimum versions, the extras only certain features need, and a few checks that will save you a support ticket later.

Minimum requirements

RequirementVersionWhy it matters
WordPress6.3+The blocks are built for the block editor that ships with WordPress 6.3 and newer. The plugin is tested up to WordPress 7.1.
PHP7.4+PHP is the language WordPress runs on, and your host sets its version. PHP 8.1 or newer is a good target for speed and security.
MySQL5.6+The database WordPress stores everything in. Any current host qualifies.
Block editorBuilt into WordPressWhere the Logo Carousel blocks live. If you've switched to the Classic Editor, you can still use classic views and shortcodes.

Running an older WordPress?

Update WordPress first if you can. The block editor changes quickly, and the blocks are designed for 6.3 and newer.

Feature-specific requirements

Some features need something extra. None of these stop the plugin from working; each one only affects the feature in its row.

FeatureNeedsIf it's missing
License activation & updates ProOutbound HTTPS to account.shapedplugin.comActivation fails with a connection error, and updates don't arrive.
Build with AIAn API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or Groq, or a provider already connected under WordPress Settings → Connectors (WordPress 7.0+). AI features also have to be allowed on the site. The Build with AI button doesn't appear.
Ready PatternsYour server must be able to reach the Logo Carousel pattern library online. Nothing is bundled inside the plugin. The library opens empty.
SVG logo uploadsAn administrator account (the manage_options capability)Only PNG, JPG, GIF, and WebP files can be added. See Adding Logos.
Large logo filesA WordPress upload limit big enough for your filesThe upload is refused with a "maximum logo image size" message.

How to check your upload limit

Go to Media → Add New Media File. The line under the upload box reads "Maximum upload file size: …". Logo files are usually small, so the default limit is almost always enough.

  • A current browser — the latest Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge for the editor and dashboard.
  • HTTPS on live sites — standard for WordPress today.
  • A reasonable PHP memory limit — 128M is comfortable.
  • A staging site — for trying updates and big settings changes before visitors see them.
  • Sensible logo files — SVG or a PNG/WebP around twice its display size. Huge images slow pages down. Performance has more tips.

Outbound connections

These are the only times the plugin connects to another server:

Ready Patterns (when you open the library)The Logo Carousel pattern server

The carousel engine (Swiper) and every other script are served from your own site, so a normal page with a logo carousel makes no third-party request. Analytics are stored in your own database, too.

Themes and page builders

  • Themes: any well-built theme works, block themes and classic themes alike.
  • Page builders: Elementor, Divi (4 and 5), WPBakery, Beaver Builder, Bricks, and Oxygen are supported through Saved Templates. See Integrations.
  • Classic Editor or widgets: use a classic view and its shortcode, or a saved template's [lc_template] shortcode.

Multisite, translation, and RTL

  • Multisite: supported. Settings, blocks, and logos belong to each site, not the whole network.
  • Translating the plugin's own text: the plugin is translation-ready — use a tool like Loco Translate or Poedit. The text domain is logo-carousel-pro for Pro and logo-carousel-free for the free version.
  • Right-to-left languages: the editor, dashboard, and front end all ship RTL styles.

How to check your versions

Open Tools → Site Health → Info and expand the WordPress and Server sections. That one screen shows your WordPress version, PHP version, memory limit, and maximum upload size.

While you're there, the Status tab flags outdated PHP and failed loopback or REST requests. Both cause problems well beyond this plugin, so they're worth fixing.
